Food For Thought.

Inner Beauty

People spend tons of money trying to improve the way they look outside.
Unfortunately, they sometimes neglect their inner appearance.
Inwardly, you can be as attractive as you want to be. You can have kindness
for example, in any amount you choose. Or, as this verse suggests, (proverbs 19:22)
you can be loyal. You can control your most important asset: THE ATTRACTIVENESS OF
YOUR CHARACTER!

I will be starting this New Year off with a very different kind of Resolution, I want to move
on behalf of God and move i shall.

SNOT

Giving is something we have been talking about for many months now.

We are very proud of the teens they have been regularly participating in many different service projects.

Today was just an example of the kids Hearts enjoy the story.

SNOT

Team Hanna

This group decided to purchase several things for several different people.

Take a look
One of the group decided to buy her parents a anniversary card and her friend lost her purse so she purchased a new one for her
They others bought a build a bear for the angel tree
Socks
And several of our groups donated to the us army fund.

We are so very proud of all of your choices today.

SNOT

Team Ferrier

This team took a different look at giving.
look at what they did.

This group chose to spend their $32 dollars on their leadership team,
they purchased the guys chocolate chip cookies
the girls bath and body works shower gel
and me a awesome coffee cup
Thank you guys so much you are very thoughtful.

SNOT

This was team Ciaverella

Look at how they choose to spend their $32.

This group really put their heads together and bought
21 pairs of mittens
6 pairs of socks
and some canned goods.

All of these things will be going to the way station on thanks giving.

SNOT

This was Team Frye,
We sent the kids out into the mall with the idea of Giving in their minds and this is how
they chose to spend their money.

They pulled their $32 dollars and purchased a build a bear for our upcoming angel tree
some clothing to donate to the way station on thanksgiving
and some very pretty accessories that will be donated to the angel tree as well.
They really did a great job with this challange.

A New Exodus

Wow, I can't tell you how much i have grown through this series so far.Thinking of God actually speaking to his people and the world was silent not even a bird was chirping how awesome a thought to hear the voice of God and have him give us instruction. I am in awe of the love of Jesus.
Thinking of all of you this week and praying for you too.
love,

Rescue Mission

I have to say working at the rescue mission really was awesome.
The families that we met there reminded me of How Jesus loves.
One little boy stole Sammies heart and she won't forget him in prayer.
I think it is the little things we do in love that really shows how Jesus,
and thank God i can do little things. There was a lady named Elli and
she is having one of her kidneys removed tomorrow and she said to me
she know Jesus is with her and that she will be ok.
Jesus is so REAL and present in the very smallest of things and i am a
better person for it.

My Dad

I have realized that with my father's illness i can have strength.
i have been praying non stop for my dad and my step mom. I can't
help but think of the things Paul said about us as a church and how
we have helped him in his time of need. I know this is happening with
my Dad and his church. They are taking care of him when i can't be there.
I think of Jesus asking us to be His Hands and Feet and i think of all the people
who are stepping up to help with my Dad and Paul and i am so eternally greatful.
My heart is broken that i can't be there for my Dad physically, but i will not stop
relying on God and His grace. I can't do this with out HIM and all the prayer you
all have given.
thank you
i love you

Spending time with Lauren

I had the best day yesterday!
Lauren, Jodi and I went for a college visit.
We went to Mount Vernon it is so beautiful
there. We got a tour of the campus and spent
some time with Annie and Melissa.
I was walking along one of the paths and I
looked over and saw my baby with new eyes.
She is a young woman ready to expand her
horizons, I really don't think i am ready for this.
I am so proud of her, and when did this transformation
take place? I know that she is going to do great things.
i love you Lauren.

Strength in numbers.

Just a observation from the weekend.
I had the privilege to spend some time
with very good friends, and once again
was reminded that there is strength in
numbers. I am in awe of the strength
that shows up when you need it the most.

Paul spoke this past weekend about Jesus
needing us to be his hands and feet, well
i witnessed in several ways outside the walls
of New Hope and in the community.
I am thankful to be a willing pair of hand
for Jesus.

Faith no matter what.

I got some bad news today about my Dad's cancer.
They found another tumor in his liver and they are
completely switching his meds, I would be lying if
i said i wasn't scared and disappointed. But aren't
we called to believe no matter what. I am having a
a hard time living this right now and i need some
prayer and time with God.

EVAN

Hey group Evan is having surgery on friday at 12:30 so let's keep him close in
prayer.

Jesus wants to save christians

I was starting to read the new book by Rob Bell. Jesus wants to save Christians and there is
a part that caught my attention. Remember i just started this book so now i am even more
excited to have revelation. The first chapter speaks about the empire of egypt and how it was
built on the back of slaves brick by brick by brick.

How God heard the cry of his people!
There was nothing left to do but cry out to God.
Have you ever been there?
I have and i can tell you desperation sometimes come in the form of pain and then the peace
of God becomes clear.

In desperation and reliance on Who we trust and what we do with that trust is when the Changes
in our life can really happen. My brick by brick by brickis in fact every step i take closer to full
reliance on my heavenly father. Sometimes my Bricks are heavy and sometimes light but i know
He can carry my load.

Just a thought
A

Spending time in prayer!

I have really enjoyed my intentional God time this week.
Paul coming back and preaching combined with the peace
of God's presence really refreshed my soul this weekend.
I hope you all have a great week and spend some time in
God's presence.

Being sick!!!!!

I think as i am a little more restricted with Sam being so sick!
It has forced me to slow down a bit.
Being a mom is so cool especially when you realize how cool your kids are.
Sam is so funny even though she is sick she makes me laugh not to mention
the continual torture Luke lays upon her, which is also very funny.
Lauren kinda just sits there and adds her thoughts then eventually gives in and
adds to the torment.
Thank God for the blessings in our life.
Amen
